So, now sieges are going to be a thing. Dunno about you guys, but when I think "mercenary" I think that means we need to start forming bonds with guilds, as well as offering protection for a price to places.
Right now I know we are under-geared and under-leveled as a guild on whole. We're working on that. Right now, too, I think we need to get a reputation for being helpful, and I think a good way to do this is by getting into this stuff when we can. We can either be super cautious, and wait till we are fully geared, or go out now and start to offer up protection even if we aren't the best at doing that.
As for alliances, I think it's important to start to talk with some of the guilds we've talked to frequently, and see if the members of these guilds would like to get us in cahoots with them. As much as I know some people will cringe---I think we need to start with Black Tides. Sergei has talked with quite a few of their members, and made bonds that we can -use-. I'd love to see us getting payed by their members, and gaining trust from them by allying with them. Don't confuse this for use getting swallowed by them---I -will not-, I repeat, -will not- let this happen. I want our guild to retain it's identity, but I think bonds are very, very important to our growth (and profit).
Another thing for use to think about is what we'll charge. Protection I think should be based on level, how many bodies said person needs, and what we are protecting. Asking for ten max level/geared characters to protect a fort in Auroria over a certain span of time? That's gonna cost yeh. Probably at least a virgin too. Gender negotiable.
And, if a group wants to pay us to put a guild on our KoS list? By all means. Keep it under the radar, but I'd not be above doing that. Just keep in mind---if we do that, it's going to be something we discuss with another guild and they will pay us a lot to do, as it creates significant risk for us. Another thing with that is that if we do get payed for this---we should only accept from groups we trust. We don't need to take random contracts from random groups that could screw us as a whole. Plus, this will be a significant, significant amount of money to us to take on.
But yes, these are things we should all consider. Opinions and thoughts more than welcome.
